Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the Odisha capital mounted to 26,536 on Thursday with 253 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 73 are quarantine and 180 are local contact cases.
The highest of 13 cases have been from Laxmisagar followed by 10 from Saheed Nagar, nine each from Khandagiri, Patia and Khandagiri, seven each from Chandrasekharpur, Nayapalli and Dumduma, six each from Unit-9 and IRC Village, five each from Old Town, Pokhariput and Kalinga Nagar and four each from Ghatikia, Mancheswar, Bharatput, Jharpada and Niladri Vihar.
The last 24 hours also saw three COVID-19 deaths and 299 patients getting cured of the infection.
With 127 deaths and 23,166 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 3222 active cases.
The city accounts for 59 per cent of the total of 45,041 confirmed cases in Khurda district.
