Bhubaneswar: The state government will open new laboratories in Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Angul, Puri and Kalahandi districts to increase COVID -19 test from July.
Revealing this to mediapersons, here on Friday, Director of Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) Ajay Parida said the new labs will help meet the state government’s target of 5,000 tests everyday.
The number of tests at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Regional Medical Research Center (RMRC) and ILS here will also be increased and 150 to 200 samples will be tested at seven medical colleges and hospitals in the state.
Claiming that antizen and antibody tests will be conducted soon, Parida said 50,000 kits have been ordered for procurement for the purpose. Testing through the kits will begin next week.
He further said a serological survey will be conducted in Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bhubaneswar and Badamba-Narasinghpur.
