New LPG Connection? Furnishing Address Proof No Longer Mandatory

New Delhi: Getting a new LPG connection will be a lot easier now, especially for those who live in rented accommodations. Now you can get a cylinder even without having to furnish an address proof, which was mandatory earlier.

State-owned oil company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), has decided to give relief to the common people by doing away with the requirement of an address proof on new LPG connection.

Now customers can easily buy a 5 kg LPG cylinder by visiting the Indane Gas Distributor or Point of Sale near their city or their area. No documents will be required for this. A 5 kg cylinder of Indane can be refilled from the selling point of Indane.

Those who are leaving the city can return this cylinder at the selling point of Indane. If returned in 5 years, 50% of the cost of the cylinder will be refunded while Rs 100 will be refunded on returning it after 5 years.

Apart from this, customers can also book gas for a refill from the comfort of their homes. For this, Indane has issued a special number 8454955555.

Customers can book a small cylinder by making a missed call on this number from any corner of the country. They can also book a cylinder through WhatsApp by typing refill, and sending that WhatsApp message 7588888824. A cylinder can also be booked by calling 7718955555.
