Srinagar: A day after an outfit of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)—the Resistance Front (TRF), reportedly claimed responsibility for an attack in Ganderbal district that killed a doctor and six migrant workers on Sunday, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday busted a new militant outfit believed to be an offshoot of the banned organisation.
The Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) of the J&K police conducted raids across multiple districts, including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama, the India Today reported.
The cops dismantled an outfit called ‘Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim’ (TLM), which was reportedly being operated by a Pakistani terrorist handler known as ‘Baba Hamas,’ officials told India Today.
The raids are still underway.
TRF chief Sheikh Sajjad Gul, a resident of Srinagar, was the mastermind of the Sunday attack, reports claimed.
The group has been targeting civilians since long. The NIA had also announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for information leading to the arrest of Gul and three others.
