Brahampur: A new power sub-station (PSS) at Gressingia in Odisha’s G. Udayagiri Block, constructed by TPSODL under the ODSSP IV scheme of Odisha government, will ensure reliable and quality electricity supply reached more households and communities in the hilly areas of Kandhamal.
The 33/11 kV, 2×5 MVA power sub-station will bring greater reliability and continuity of supply to around 4,000 consumers across six Gram Panchayats — Gressingia, Badimunda, Pikaradi, Ratingia, Petapanga and Gadaguda.
The project is expected to reduce power interruptions, improve voltage levels and support the growing electricity needs of communities in the region.
Kandhamal being a district known for its hilly terrain, forests, valleys and dispersed settlements, such geographical characteristics make infrastructure development and network strengthening in the region more challenging.
Hence, a stronger local power infrastructure will improve service reliability for communities located across the area’s undulating landscape.
Stable and reliable electricity will support households, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, local businesses and other community establishments that depend on uninterrupted power for their day-to-day activities. Local economic activities will be boosted while supporting improved access to essential services in rural and remote communities.
