Bhubaneswar/Berhampur: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) started home collection of swab samples of senior citizens for COVID-19 testing from Monday.
To avail the facility, senior citizens with COVID symptoms will have to call 1929 and give their address. A testing van will then reach their house and collect swab samples.
Likewise for vaccination, senior citizens living alone can call the helpline number (1929) and give their address. BMC will make arrangements to transport them to the vaccination centre and later drop them back at their home.
Similarly, a ‘Vaccination Outdoor’ facility for those above 70 years and divyangs was launched by Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC).in Ganjam district. A vaccination van will go to the home of the senior citizens after getting a call.
Senior citizens and divyangs willing to avail of the doorstep vaccination facility can call 73280-99324 between 8 am and 12 pm. They have to give their name, address and age proof. The senior citizens will be vaccinated after one day of booking.
The BeMC has set a target of vaccinating 100 persons per day.
