Puri: Asking people not to drink and drive, Puri Police on Tuesday launched a drive against drink-driving ahead of the New Year.
The drive was launched at Subhash Bose Chhak on VIP Road. It will continue across the town till January 1.
Police said that the drive has been launched for the safety of people and tourists during the yearend and New Year, when several accidents are caused by inebriated motorists.
Breathanalyser kits have been provided to all police stations. Motorists caught driving drunk will be fined or even arrested depending on the severity of the offence, police said.
