New Year Spoiler: Mumbai On High Alert After Caller Threatens Explosions

Mumbai: As the entire country prepares to usher in the new year with in style, India’s financial capital was on tenterhooks following a threat call.

An unknown caller threatened to bomb several places in Mumbai, without specifying the target locations, putting Mumbai Police on high alert on new year’s eve.

Mumbai Police Control Room received the call at around 6 pm on Saturday.

“There would be explosions in Mumbai,” the caller said before disconnecting.

A police spokesperson said several checks were conducted at key locations following the call. Nothing suspicious has yet been found.

However, Mumbai Police are not taking any chances and have tightened security across the city.

Despite all efforts, police haven’t managed to trace the caller yet.
