Bhubaneswar: A newborn baby boy was found abandoned inside an auto rickshaw in Bhubaneswar on Monday night.
According to sources, locals spotted the around one-month-old baby in the backseat of the auto parked near Subham Apartment a
t Patia after hearing his cries and alerted Chandrasekharpur police. The auto-rickshaw driver, upon questioning, claimed he had no knowledge of how the baby ended up in his vehicle. The locals took care of the child till police arrived and took him for a medical examination, where doctors confirmed he was healthy and in stable condition. The baby has since been placed at Subhadra Mahtab Seva Sadan at Kolathia.
Meanwhile, police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning locals amid efforts to locate the family of the child. Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.
