Jagatsinghpur: Body of a newborn boy was found in the toilet of district headquarters hospital in Jagatsinghpur on Monday morning.
Attendant of a patient spotted the body in the toilet pan and informed the security guards. The body was then retrieved with the help of a sweeper, hospital sources said.
The dead child was wrapped in a plastic bag and dumped in the toilet.
Following the incident, tension gripped the hospital premises.
Under what circumstances, the baby was dumped in the toilet, is yet to be ascertained, the sources added.
Investigation into the matter is on.
The hospital authority will take help of CCTV surveillance footage to find out the truth, said the sources.
