Baripada: A newborn girl was found lying near a bush at Bhanra village under Karanjia police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
Sources said the newborn was rescued by some locals who found her lying in a bushy area on the outskirts of the village.
The newborn whose health condition is stated to be critical has been admitted to the SNCU of Karanjia Sub Divisional Hospital.
After getting information, Karanjia police have launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to ascertain who dumped the newborn.
