Newborn Girl Found Abandoned On Temple Steps In Odisha’s Bargarh

Bargarh: A newborn girl was reportedly found abandoned on the steps of a Shiva temple in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Wednesday.

As per preliminary reports, the priest of the Shiva temple at Godabhagar heard the cries of the baby when he reached the temple in the morning. He found the newborn, wrapped in clothes, on the temple steps.

The priest immediately informed local residents about the incident. They also infirmed the police about the baby lying abandoned.

A team of police personnel rushed to the site and rescued the baby. It was not clear as to who left the baby at the temple. Police have started an investigation into the incident.

The baby was reported to have been sent to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla.
