Bhubaneswar: A newborn baby, who was allegedly sold by her parents in Odisha’s Balangir district, has been traced in a hospital in Raipur of Chhattisgarh.
According to sources, soon after the bay was born on November 2, her parents sold her to a couple from Raipur. After the matter came to light, deputy chief minister KV Singhdeo and officials of Odisha government requested the baby’s parents to reveal the names and address of the couple who had bought her.
But neither baby’s father nor mother revealed anything. Finally, the child welfare committee (CWC), police and other officials came to know that the baby was sold to the couple from Raipur. They were also informed that the newborn was in a critical condition and was undergoing treatment at Blue Bird Hospital in Raipur.
The CWC spoke with the doctors of the hospital and confirmed the baby’s health condition. The officials of both Balangir and Raipur are now working together to rescue the baby and bring her back.
