Bhubaneswar: Newly-appointed Governor of Odisha Professor Ganeshi Lal will take oath of office on May 29.
The Governor is scheduled to arrive in the state on Monday, sources said.
His appointment was approved by President Ram Nath Kovind on May 25.
Ganeshi Lal, who was the state president of BJP Haryana Unit, will take charge from Satya Pal Malik soon. His tenure will be effective from the date he assumes office, sources said.
The BJP MLA from Sirsa was the food and supplies minister in the Haryana government.
Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik was given the additional charge of Odisha after completion of the five-year tenure of SC Jamir on March 21.
Ganeshi Lal is the 46th Governor of Odisha.
