Hong Kong: Nokia has finally unveiled the covers on its latest mid-budget phone, the Nokia 6.1 plus. The Nokia 6.1 is an Android One device and hence has a stock Android experience like Moto and other phones. It is similar to the Nokia X6, design and specs wise. The only differentiating factor is the pure Android 8.1 Oreo interface.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus has a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) display with a display notch and 19:9 aspect ratio. There is a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It has the popular octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC and comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with expandable memory slot.
The rear camera is a dual camera with the primary being a 16-megapixel sensor and a secondary a 5-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixels. The front camera is a 16-megapixel unit with f/2.0 aperture and same 1-micron pixel sensor. Nokia claims the camera has AI features for improved photographic output such as depth of field, portrait lighting effects, face recognition and more. There is a feature that lets users use both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
The phone has Face Unlock, supports USB Type-C port and the fingerprint sensor is on the back. The battery has a capacity of 3060mAh and supports Quick Charge 3.0 that can charge the phone up to 50 percent of charge in just half an hour. The phone measures 147.2×70.98×7.99mm and weighs 151 grams.
The Nokia 6.1 plus is priced at HKD 2,288 (roughly Rs. 20,100) in Hong Kong. It will be available in blue and white colour options. It is expected to come to India this year.
