Separated By Fate, Newly-Married Couple Reunites In Hospital Two Days After Odisha Train Crash

Bhubaneswar: They were united in holy matrimony but got separated within 48 hours. Deepika Pali (26) and Mohammed Rafiq (29) were travelling on the ill-fated Coromandal Express from Shalimar to Visakhapatnam after getting married on May 31. Two days later, neither of them knew if the other was alive.

While Rafiq, who works in a hotel in Visakhapatnam, fractured a leg, Deepika sustained injuries on her head, hand and waist in the mishap. The couple was sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in an unconscious state. At the hospital, while Deepika was admitted to the Surgery ward, Rafiq was sent to the Trauma ward.
