Koraput: Amid heavy rain and flood threat, vehicular movement on Koraput-Laxmipur-Rayagada road was disrupted after a bridge on NH-326, connecting Bangalaguda with Lendri Maliguda in Odisha’s Koraput district, collapsed near Podagada village on Tuesday.
According to sources, the incident took place at 4 pm when 10 feet of the 40 feet long bridge collapsed from one side. Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on either side of the road.
It is suspected that incessant rainfall might have weakened the bridge, which subsequently led to the collapse.
