New Delhi/Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday declared a bounty of Rs 10 lakh for Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. This comes after the Mumbai Crime Branch claimed that the three suspected shooters allegedly involved in the Baba Siddiqui murder case were in contact with Anmol through the messaging app—Snapchat, according to reports.
Anmol’s name has been mentioned in the chargesheet of two 2022 NIA cases. Sleuths of the crime branch had claimed that the shooters, mastermind Praveen Lonkar and Anmol used Snapchat for communication among themselves and used to delete the messages after receiving them on the app.
Anmol, who fled India on a fake passport, was spotted in Kenya last year and in Canada this year, India Today reported.
Also known as ‘Bhanu’, Anmol is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of Punjab singer Sidhu Mossewala in 2022. Anmol Bishnoi has 18 cases registered against him.
Mumbai Police had also issued a lookout circular against Anmol in connection with the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s residence on April 14. Anmol had reportedly claimed responsibility for the incident on social media.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Baba Siddique, was shot outside his son’s office in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra East in Mumbai earlier this month. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. According to media reports, the Crime Branch has arrested at least 10 suspects in the case, including two shooters and a weapon supplier.
