Cuttack: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials on
Wednesday detained a youth from Samantarapur slum located at Kisan
Nagar in Cuttack over his alleged links with terrorists.
The youth was identified as Akhtar Hussain Khan.
As per information, a six-member team of the NIA conducted a raid on a
rented house where Akhtar used to stay and questioned him for more
than five hours. Following which, they took Hussain to the office of
Cuttack Rural SP for further interrogation.
Hussain was residing in a rented house for the past four years, prior
to which he was was in Saudi Arabia for more than ten years.
Though some local residents informed that Akhtar runs a business in
Kolkata, his family members denied the same.
The raid was conducted on the basis of an information obtained during
interrogation of a suspected terrorist, who was recently arrested in
New Delhi.
Earlier on December 16, 2015, a team of Delhi police along with Odisha
police had arrested suspected terrorist Abdur Rehman from his house at
Paschima Kachha village under Jagatpur police limits in Cuttack for
his alleged links with terror outfit al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent
