Jagatsinghpur/Niali: Even as the spectre of the unknown sheep killer continues to haunt Niali block of Cuttack, nine sheep were found dead under mysterious circumstances in Jagatsinghpur on Friday morning.
According to reports, Pratap Das found nine of his sheep dead and three with serious injuries in his cattle shed at Alipingal village in the district. Five sheep had earlier gone missing from the same locality. “The sheep were recently attacked and killed in the similar fashion as that in Niali,” a villager said.
Peeved over the incident, locals blocked Alipingal-Jagatsinghpur main road demanding adequate compensation to the sheep owner.
Meanwhile, Niali witnessed another sheep death late on Thursday. The wild animal reportedly killed one sheep and injured two others in the cattle shed of Antaryami Das at Badabankihati village.
