Puri: The three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra reached Gundicha Temple in Puri on Monday afternoon.
The pulling of the chariot had to be suspended last evening after sunset and the deities spent the rainy night atop respective chariot. While Taladhwaja was halted near Balagandi, Darpadalana of Goddess Subhadra and Nandighosa of Lord Jagannath were stopped near Bagala Dharmasala and Town police station, respectively.
The ritual resumed around 9 in the morning. Braving rain, thousands of devotees pulled the richly decorated chariots through the streets of Puri amid much enthusiasm and fanfare. The deities will remain in Gudicha Temple for nine days.
