Night Temp Drops To 7.2°C In Odisha; Fog Likely In Six Dists For 3 days

Bhubaneswar: Amid a drop in the night temperature, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecast shallow to moderate fog in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts of Odisha till November 21 morning.

Meanwhile, the night temperature plummeted to 7.2°C at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district. The hill station had recorded 7.8°C the previous day. The other places, where mercury dropped below 15°C, are Semiliguda in Koraput (9.1) Phulbani in Kandhamal (10.5), Daringdabi in Kandhamal (11.5), Angul (11.6), Rourkela (12.2), Jharsuguda (12.4), Chiplima in Sambalpur (13.4), Sundargarh (14), Keonjhar (14), Bhadrak (14), Nabarangpur (14.5), Dhenkanal (14.9) and Balangir (14.9).

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.8°C and 16°C respectively, 2.2 and 1.9 degrees below normal. The night temperature was 5.9 degree and 4 degrees below normal in Angul and Jharsuguda respectively.

The weather agency has forecast no large change in the minimum temperature during the next 4-5 days.
