Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience a dip in the night temperature during next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday.
The minimum temperature is likely to fall by 2-3 degree Celsius at a few places during next 24 hours with no large change thereafter, according to the midday bulletin.
Odisha has been witnessing a rise in the night temperature for the past few days. Koraput was the coldest place in the state at 8.8 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours and the only place which recorded 5 degrees below normal temperature. Twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 18 and 16.6 degree Celsius, respectively, which was 2.8 and 2.2 degrees above normal.
According to the forecast, the night temperature in the state capital may decrease to 15 degree Celsius during next seven days.
While dense fog engulfed Cuttack, Sonepur and Phulbani this morning, the warning continues for several districts of the state for another 3 days.
The weather agency has also forecast light rain at some places on January 17-18.
