Bhubaneswar: With coldwave sweeping Odisha, the mercury plummeted to 7 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district followed by Kirei in Sundargarh district at 8 degree Celsius and Jharsuguda at 9.2 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
The night temperature hovered around 10 degree celsius at three more places in the state – Keonjhar (9.8), Phulbani (10) and Sundargarh (10).
Nineteen other places recorded a minimum temperature below 15 degree Celsius
The IMD had forecast a drop in night temperature in south Odisha in the last 24 hours and no large change thereafter.
