Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to witness a gradual rise in the night temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Saturday.
The mercury at plummeted at several places in the state over the last two days. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 15 and 14.2 degree Celsius, respectively, which was 2.8 and 2.7 degrees below normal, this morning. Kirei was the coldest at 6.7 degree Celsius and 8 degree Celsius on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The weather agency has also forecast light rain/thundershower at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts on Sunday. Light rain/thundershower may also occur at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj, during the subsequent 24 hours.
While dry weather will prevail during the next two days, there is a forecast for light rain at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj on February 15.
