Mumbai: In the aftermath of their fiery on-screen clash during the Splitsvilla X6 (Season 16) grand finale, the tension between host Nia Sharma and contestant Niharika Tiwari has spilled over onto social media.
Nia Sharma shared a cryptic Instagram post featuring behind-the-scenes moments from the show, captioning it with a pointed reference to being “UN-KNOWN to be well paid for the job,” which many interpreted as a subtle response to Niharika’s on-stage remark that she “didn’t know” Nia before the show.
Niharika quickly fired back by posting a video from a recent event, visibly embracing the spotlight with the cheeky line, “Enjoying 3 mahine ka fame”.
In the video, Niharika is seen surrounded by her fans, who are busy clicking her pictures.
She captioned the video as, “If I was so unknown, why am I still the topic?” Broooo….. They wanted silence. I brought self-respect.”
The video went viral in no time, with fans hailing her response to Nia’s post.
One fan commented, “What a reply bro!!!!!”
Another wrote, “Stop giving energy to other people’s opinions. Their opinions don’t define you. You deserve all the good things and we hope that life gives you bigger opportunities.”
One wrote, “They have to talk about you because when they talk about themselves no one listens.”
The controversy began after Nia, who appeared on the dating reality show as a ‘Mischief Maker’ along with Uorfi Javed, confronted contestant Niharika Tiwari over comments made on podcasts in which she was allegedly called “biased.”
What started as a discussion soon turned into a heated exchange, with Niharika reportedly stating that she was not aware of who Nia was before participating in Splitsvilla.
Nia said, “Biased hone ke liye kisiki existence ke baare mein pata hona chahiye. This was my very first time on Splitsvilla. Did I know anybody before this show? No. Did I know you, Niharika? Not at all, babe.”
To this, Niharika replied, “Mujhe bhi aap nahi pata thi.”
Nia further stated that if someone is going to question the credibility of a show’s host, they should first ensure that they have enough evidence to support their claims.
“No one is biased, we don’t have the authority to be biased. Now you are famous, within 3 months span. I have been here 15 years. I have seen the highs and lows,” said Nia.
An irked Niharika hit back, “Kya baat kar rahi hai ye faltu ki? 3 months mein fame mila hai kya mereko? (What is she even talking about? Have I gotten fame in just 3 months?).”
