Mumbai: Singer Sona Mohapatra has come up with a song titled ‘Nilamani’ which is dedicated to the brave people of Odisha who have faced many cyclones including the recent Amphan.
Sung in Odia, Sona has created and edited the music video along with her composer husband Ram Sampath. She plans to launch the song this week.
According to Sona, while the music video is mostly about the people’s determination to withstand natural calamity like cyclone and jest for life, it highlights traditional art and artists.
It has captured the scenic countryside of Odisha which was shot when Sona was travelling for a music concert.
On the title of the track, ‘Nilamani’, she said its literary meaning is ‘the blue jewel’, by which Lord Jagannath is addressed.
