Rourkela: Rourkela police on Tuesday arrested nine persons in
connection with the recent ATM cash van loot case.
The incident took place on December 1 near Sorada under Bisra police
limits when a group of unidentified miscreants looted Rs 25 lakh in
cash after intercepting a van belonging to State Bank of India (SBI)
was on its way to load the cash in ATM counter. The armed looters held
the bank employees at gunpoint and decamped with the money from the
vehicle.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by the bank officials, police
started an investigation into the case and nabbed these persons, police sources said.
In a separate incident, Mangalabag police arrested five dacoits and
seized a gun, a motorcycle and some weapons from them.
