Bhubaneswar: In recognition of the best practices in corporate social responsibility (CSR), the prestigious Kalinga CSR award was conferred on nine organizations at an event organized by Institute of Quality & Environment Management Services (IQEMS) in association with Institute of Public Enterprises (Hyderabad) and Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Heritage here on Saturday.
A national seminar on CSR initiatives titled ‘Sustainable Action’ was also held. Attending the seminar as chief guest, NALCO chairman-cum- managing director Tapan Chand emphasized that CSR is impact of creation through sustainable action and not merely utilization of budget.
Senior economic advisor of South African High Commission Dr Sarat Chandra Pradhan, former chief spokesperson of Government of India Umakant Mishra, former secretary (ministry of textile) Sanjay Kumar Panda, former director of Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy Vinod Kumar and IQEMS director Subrat Panigrahi were present.
