Bhadrak: Nine persons were injured after being attacked by jackals at Basudebpur village in Bhadrak district on Sunday evening.
According to reports, two jackals from a nearby forest strayed into the village and attacked nine persons. They were rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries caused by animal bite. Five among them were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The angry villagers later stoned the jackals to death.
After receiving information about the incident, forest officials and police reached the spot and began investigation.
