Puri/Angul/Cuttack: At least nine persons were injured in three separate fire mishaps in the state on the occasion of Mahashivratri on Wednesday.
In Puri, four women sustained severe burn injuries after their clothes caught fire inside Baba Balikapileswar Peetha in Puri district while attempting to lit earthen lamps.
A similar incident was also reported from Angul district when four people were injured in a firecracker explosion at Aida temple under Athamalik block. The victims were immediately rushed to Athmallik hospital for treatment.
A woman was also injured while lighting an earthen lamp in the premises of Baidyanath temple located at Mangalabag area in Cuttack district and has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
