Rourkela: Police on Friday seized a huge quantity of gutkha, weighing nine quintal, at Rajgangpur in Rourkela of Sundargarh district.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a van coming from Jagatpur of Cuttack and seized gutkha and other tobacco products from it.
A businessman identified as Deepak Agrawal and the driver of the vehicle were arrested in connection with the seizure. Cash to the tune of Rs 5.81 lakh and 10 silver coins were seized from the duo police sources said.
The police are interrogating the accused for establishing their links with other people involved in gutkha smuggling.
