Balasore: Odish Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik will be the Chief Minister of Odisha if the Congress comes to power in 2019, said OPCC working president Chiranjib Biswal on Saturday.
Addressing a meeting of the Jana Jagaran Yatra of the Congress, Biswal said the party under the leadership of Niranjan Patnaik is going to contest the Assembly elections in the state. On the basis of his leadership, he will be the Chief Minister if the party comes to power in 2019.
He, however, said that party MLAs will decide as to who will be the Chief Minister.
The Jana Jagaran Yatra, which was kicked off from Balasore on September 3, moved to Jaleswar and Bhogarai blocks on Saturday after covering several villages of Balasore block.
