Nirbhaya Rape Case: SC Upholds Death Sentence For 3 Convicts

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the death verdict for the four convicts in the 2012 Delhi gang rape and murder case after rejecting their review petition.

Earlier on May 5, 2017, the apex court had upheld the death sentences, following which, the convicts had filed a review petition.

A bench comprising, Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices R Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan, delivered the judgment on the pleas of Mukesh (29), Pawan Gupta (22) and Vinay Sharma (23).

However, the four death row convict, Akshay Kumar Singh (31), did not file a review petition against the Supreme Court’s May 5, 2017 order.
