Rourkela: The NIT-Rourkela has bagged an international collaborative project under the Indo-German partnership.
Two faculty members of the NIT’s Chemistry department, Dr Debayan Sarkar and Dr Rupam Dinda in association with Dr Burkhard König of University of Regensburg, Germany have been awarded an international collaborative project of Rs 1.92 crore under the scheme, Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education 2020-2024- a joint programme by MHRD (India) and DAAD (Germany).
The project, “Chemical Innovations for a Sustainable Future” has received the approval of the University Grants Commission.
The four-year project will deal with all the latest chemical innovations employing visible light catalysis, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and photo-dynamic inactivation against pathogens.
Under the programme, the NITR will develop joint research projects and upgrade study programmes to enhance its strategies of internationalization.
