Nitin Gadkari To Visit Odisha On April 17; Works Minister Hints At ‘Big’ Announcement

Bhubaneswar: Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to visit Odisha on April 17.

“The Union Minister will grace the Harekrushna Mahtab Memorial Lecture at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack and review the progress of the ongoing highway works later in the afternoon. He will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 16 projects worth Rs 5,000 crore of NHAI in Bhubaneswar and address a public meeting,” Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan told the media on Tuesday. 

Harichandan further stated that Gadkari, who is slated to attend an event at Baramunda ground, is expected to making an important announcement pertaining to development of road sector in Odisha. “We will soon get more clarity on it. The impact of double engine government on the road sector aligning with the massive growth plan for the state will get reflected during this visit,” he added.

Mentioning about recent visits of national leaders and Union Ministers to Odisha, BJP leader Golak Mohaptra had earlier told the media that the state has entered a golden period. “Odisha is witnessing rapid development under the double engine government. Recently Union Health Minister J P Nadda inaugurated the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and several facilities at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar,” he said.
