Cuttack: An Associate Professor of National Law University Odisha (NLUO) was found dead in her rented accommodation at CDA in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Ananya Chakraborty (42), a native of Kolkata.
According to sources, her friends rushed to her house, where she stayed alone, on Sunday morning when she did not take their calls. Finding the house locked from inside and getting no response, they informed police, which entered the house by breaking open the door only to find her dead. The body was sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for postmortem.
Though the cause of death is yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that she died of cardiac arrest.
Meanwhile, her family has arrived in the city from Kolkata.
Going by preliminary report, Chakraborty died due to a heart attack, NLUO Vice Chancellor Prof Veda Kumari later told the media. A condolence meeting will be held on the varsity campus this evening, she informed.
Source added that multiple blockages in the heart is the most likely reason for her death.
