Bhubaneswar: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 100 MBBS seats for the Keonjhar Medical College and Hospital under the Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo (MSCBD) University in Odisha’s Baripada town.
The NMC conveyed its approval to the university through a letter issued by its Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB). With this approval, the Keonjhar Medical College and Hospital will start admission of students from 2022-23 academic year .
The MARB gave its approval after examining the Assessor’s report and remarks of the UG Expert Groups on the infrastructure facilities of the college, laboratories, library, hostels, hospital and availability of the faculty. It also verified the facilities at Government Medical College, Keonjhar where the MSCBD University will start functioning initially.
The NMC has directed the university to send its acceptance letter within one week from the date of issue of the notification to enable the MARB to issue Letter of Permission for the academic year 2022- 23.
It may be noted that the NMC had approved 100 MBBS seats at Government Medical College in Sundargarh on August 19.
