No Alliance In Odisha, BJD Hopeful Of Winning 75% Assembly & Lok Sabha Seats

Bhubaneswar: After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its decision to go it alone in the upcoming elections in Odisha, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday claimed it will win more than 75 per cent of the Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in the state.

With both the political parties making their intentions clear, all speculations about a possible BJP-BJD alliance in the state have come to an end. Soon after Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal announced his party’s plan to go solo, BJD organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das said the regional party is fully prepared to fight all Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in the state.

Taking to his X handle, Pranab Prakash Das said that the ruling party will contest all 147 Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections in the state. He exuded confidence that the Naveen Patnaik-led party would win more than three-fourth seats in the state in the upcoming twin polls.

“BJD will contest in all 147 assembly constituencies and 21 Lok Sabha constituencies with the support of people of Odisha and win more than three fourth seats under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik,” said BJD general secretary (organisation) posted on X.

Das claimed that Odisha has transformed like never before in each and every sector under the BJD rule.

“With the blessings of Lord Jagannatha and the faith of people of Odisha, BJD has been serving the state and transforming it like never before in every sector,” he said.

The BJD leader further revealed that the ruling party will continue to take decisions in the best interest of the people of Odisha.

“BJD will continue to take decisions keeping people of Odisha in the forefront always and their welfare in true spirit of cooperative federalism and statesmanship required for nation building,” Das said.

The BJD under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will strive hard to realize the twin goals of New Odisha and Empowered Odisha, he added.
