Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) on Thursday announced that like the previous year, the Retail Supply Tariff for 2018-19 remains unaltered.
According to OERC Director, Priyabrata Patnaik, 1% rebate over and above normal rebate shall be allowed on the bill to the LT domestic category of consumers only over and above all the rebates who pay through digital means. This rebate shall be applicable on the current month bill if paid in full.
Besides, a special rebate to the LT (low transmission) single phase consumers in addition to any other rebate he/she is otherwise eligible for shall be allowed at the end of the financial year (the bill for month of March) if he has paid the bill for all the 12 months, of the financial year consistently without fail within due date during the relevant financial year.
The amount of rebate shall be equal to the rebate of the month of March for timely payment of bill, he added.
As per the decision taken by the OERC, there is no change in meter rent.
This apart, the distribution companies (DISCOM) have been asked not to deny the new LT supply up to 5 KW on the plea of non-availability of transformer capacity, he pointed out.
