The district administration has imposed restriction on devotees from visiting churches on Christmas and instead advised them to celebrate in their homes. Also, no decorations of churches will be allowed on the occasion.
According to sources, the administration has taken this decision in fear of a second wave of COVID-19 in the district.
Notably, churches in the jurisdiction area of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be allowed to open on December 25 for Christmas.
However, the church authorities will have to submit an undertaking regarding the accommodation of maximum number of devotees at one point of time.
