No Community Celebration Of Ganesh Puja In Odisha’s Puri

Puri: In view of increasing cases of COVID-19, the district administration on Thursday imposed restrictions on community celebration of Ganesh Puja.

In an order, Collector Balwant Singh said considering the alarming trend of rise of corona cases, congregation at any puja mandap and public place for celebration of Ganesh Puja is not allowed in the district. However, there is no restriction on performing individual puja at homes.

According to the order, youth associations, clubs, institutions and organisations are prohibited from holding Ganesh Puja celebration.

Apart from Puri, restrictions have been imposed on public celebration of Ganesh Puja in Sambalpur, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati and Sundargarh districts and the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar this year.
