Puri: The general darshan of the sibling deities at Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri will be halted for four hours on Monday for Khasapada Lagi Niti.
The special ritual will be conducted from 6 pm to 10 pm and during this period, devotees will not be allowed darshan of the Lords inside Srimandir, informed Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), adding that it will be performed after the second Bhogamandap Bhoga is offered to the deities.
The secret ritual is conducted on sixth day of Shukla Paksha in Shravan Mala month and the dark 14th day of the month of Chaitra and on one-two other occasions. It is specially conducted for Shreepayars (holy feet) of the deities, who are covered with white clothes.
