Bhubaneswar: A day after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) allowed universities and colleges to conduct end-of-term examinations, the Odisha government on Tuesday said that it will take a call on it after a thorough review.
Informing the media here, vice-chairman of the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) Ashok Das said that the government is aware of the overriding concern among student about their health in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“A decision to conduct the final semester examinations of the undergraduate (PG) and postgraduate (PG) streams will be taken after a thorough review,” he said.
Notably, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday had allowed for holding end-of-term examinations with strict adherence to the guidelines of Universities Grants Commission (UGC) on examinations and academic calendar for the universities, and as per the standard operating procedure approved by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
