Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has not taken any decision on setting up a second Agricultural University in the state, said Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo in the State Assembly.
Replying to a starred question of Congress member Tara Prasad Bahinipati, he said that the location of the proposed university will be finalised after the government takes a decision.
Stating that efforts are on to increase agricultural productivity in the hilly areas, Sahoo said that the Odisha University of Agriculture University (OUAT) has set up an agro-polytechnic centre, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Regional Research & Transfer of Technology Stations (RRTTS) at Semiliguda, High Altitude Research Centre and All India Coordinated Research Project on Spices at Pottangi and Regional Research and Technology Transfer Sub-Station (RRTTS) at Jeypore in Koraput district.
