Puri: The Puri administration on Monday said that no decision has been taken on how to conduct Deba Snana Yatra of Lord Jagannath on June 24.
Briefing the media after a preparatory meeting, Puri Collector Samarth Verma said discussions with the stakeholders are underway to decide the manner in which the rituals of the Lords will be conducted in adherence with the COVID guidelines.
“After collecting the feedback from stakeholders, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) will hold a meeting with the Chhattisha Nijog. Apart from this, the temple administration will also seek the opinion of the Puri Gajapati Maharaja and Gobardhan Peeth Sankaracharya. On the basis of their suggestions and recommendations, the modality of the rituals will be finalised,” he added.
On this day, the deities are escorted out of the sanctum santorum to the snana vedi located on the outer complex of the temple and bathed with 108 pitchers of herbal and aromatic water. It takes place on the full moon day of the month of Jyestha.
Meanwhile, the work on the chariots of the sibling deities within a bio bubble in Puri has resumed after Cyclone Yaas.
