No Let-Up In Heatwave Condition In Odisha Despite Rain Forecast For Next 4 Days

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department has forecast rain in several districts of Odisha during the next four days. Yellow warning of thunderstorm & lightning has also been issued.

April 8

Light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul,  Dhenkanal,  Balasore, Bhadrak,  Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Yellow Warning

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul,  Dhenkanal,  Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal.

April 9

Light to moderate rain or thundershower at a few places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak,  Balasore,  Angul,  Dhenkanal,  Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Khurda.

Yellow Warning

Thunderstorm with lightning and hail with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Angul,  Dhenkanal,  Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Khurda.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely at one or two places in Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Rayagada, Koraput, Deogarh and Boudh.

April 10

Light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri,  Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Angul,  Dhenkanal,  Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak,  Nayagarh, Khurda and Jajpur.

Yellow Warning

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely at one or two places over the districts ofMalkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Angul,  Dhenkanal,  Mayurbhanj, Balasore,  Bhadrak and Jajpur.

April 11

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri,  Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Dhenkanal,  Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

The Met office, however, said that there will be no change in the maximum temperature for the next four to five days. The day temperature is likely to be more than 40 degree Celsius at a few places in Balangir, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh,  Jharsuguda, Sambalpur during the next 2 days.

People have been advised to take precautionary measures while going outside around noon.
