Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday claimed that no mutated strain of coronovirus has been found in any part of the state.
Director (Public Health) Niranjan Mishra told the media that 242 new strains of the virus has surfaced in the country, but none of these have been reported in Odisha till date.
Mishra further informed that of the 242 mutations, 213 strains have originated in the United Kingdom and the remaining were first detected in South Africa and Brazil.
He also said there is no lockdown or shutdown situation in Odisha at present.
The state government has issued an advisory to caution the people to remain careful against the new mutant strains, he added.
