‘No One Will Be Spared’: Fadnavis Vows Action Against Tiger Shroff Attackers, Says Suspects Identified

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has vowed that those behind the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai will face action, irrespective of the gang or individuals involved. He said Mumbai Police had made progress in the case and identified certain suspects through clues collected during the probe.

“Regardless of the gang or the individual involved, no one will be spared. If anyone attempts to operate through such threats, the Mumbai Police knows exactly how to set them straight,” the chief minister said.

Fadnavis described the incident as grave and unacceptable. He said the police were treating it with full seriousness and expected to detain the identified persons shortly.

“This is a very serious and condemnable matter. The Mumbai Police have taken it with the utmost seriousness. They have obtained certain clues, based on which they are currently working, and specific individuals have already been identified. These people will be arrested very soon,” he said.

Hunt For Those Behind Attack

The chief minister said the probe would go beyond the arrest of the shooters. According to him, the police would also locate the alleged masterminds who were issuing directions while remaining in hiding.

He said none of the main operators were functioning from within Maharashtra, adding that those who were had already been taken into custody. Fadnavis indicated that the remaining accused could be based in other states or even outside India.

“These perpetrators are operating from outside Maharashtra, or even from outside the country. By coordinating with the states from which they operate, and with the assistance of the Central Government regarding those operating from abroad, we will track them down and take strict action against them,” he said.

On attempts to bring gangster Lawrence Bishnoi into custody, Fadnavis said the state had already sent a request and the legal process was in progress, as reported by NDTV.

“We have already sent the request and action is currently underway. That is why I said, no matter where their masterminds might be hiding, the due legal process must be followed. The Mumbai Police has demonstrated in the past that no matter where such perpetrators may be hiding in the world, the Mumbai Police will track them down,” he said.

Firing In Juhu

The incident occurred on Sunday evening when unidentified men allegedly fired at Shroff’s vehicle as he left a football club in Juhu at around 7 pm. Police said two persons, including the actor’s driver, suffered injuries, while Mr Shroff was not hit by any bullet.

A case has been registered against three unidentified accused under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.

Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde met Shroff at his residence later that night to enquire about his condition. Photographs showed the actor with dressings on his shoulder and chest and a bandage on his right arm. His mother, Ayesha Shroff, was present during the meeting.

Review Of Actor Security

Fadnavis said the government would examine every detail of the attack and decide whether additional protection was required for actors.

“Everything related to this incident will be analysed. Whatever is necessary will be done. I believe the Mumbai Police is regarded as a highly professional force. They will take all the necessary steps following an incident like this,” he said.

He also criticised opposition parties for questioning the police, alleging that they had misused the force while in power. The Chief Minister said public trust in Mumbai Police remained intact and that the film industry too continued to repose faith in it.
