New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur on Monday made it clear that the Centre has no proposal for granting Special Category Status to Odisha.
Replying to a question by the BJD MP of Nabarangpur, Ramesh Chandra Majhi in the Lok Sabha during Question Hour, he said apart from this, a proposal under consideration to allow the sharing of funds for the Centrally sponsored scheme in the ratio of 90:10 for Odisha at par with the North-Eastern and Himalayan states.
The Union minister also said that the 14th Finance Commission has not made any distinction between the special category and general category states with regard to the norms and recommendations for special assistance.
